Hey! Hey!
So glad to reach out to you today!

—-------------------
Do you remember the fun house?
Not the haunted kind that made you scream.
I'm talking about the carnival kind — the one with the wonky mirrors that stretched your body into all kinds of weird shapes, the flashing lights that made everyone look like they were walking in slow motion, and last but not least - the revolving tube!!
Oh, that tube.
I would watch other people go through it first, completely convinced I had it figured out. I'll walk fast. Keep my eyes forward. No problem.
And then, as soon as I stepped in, the floor would tilt, the walls would spin, and suddenly all my plans would disappear in my frantic scrambles to avoid falling. Between the screaming and laughing at myself, I would end up crawling to the other side with zero dignity, and somehow absolutely loving every second of it.
That’s the feeling I want to talk with you about today.
The Floor Is Supposed to Shake
Here's what we often forget about the fun house: the chaos was by design.
The shaky floor wasn't broken. The wonky mirrors weren't a malfunction. The spinning tube wasn't a mistake someone forgot to fix. It was all built that way — intentionally, carefully — because that's exactly what makes it an adventure.
I’ve been thinking about how much life feels like that right now, and maybe for you, too.
The ground shifts.
The reflection staring back at you doesn't quite look like the one you're used to.
You reach for something solid and find everything around you seems to be moving. And somewhere in the middle of all of it, you have a choice: panic — or grab something solid, find your footing, and keep going.
Most of the time, we won’t make it through without falling or flailing.
And that's completely, entirely okay.
Mistakes, missteps, and misunderstandings are normal!
Figuring it Out
I think the combination of curiosity + courage + faith is what makes figuring it out possible — for me, and perhaps true for you!
When these three things work together:
Curiosity says, I wonder what's in there.
Courage says, Let's find out.
And faith — not the kind that guarantees a perfect outcome, but the kind that says, even if things go sideways, I will be okay.
Psalms 23:1 says - “The Lord is my Shepherd, I have all that I need.” and Verse 4 says “Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.” NLT
Faith doesn't get rid of the shaky floors, the warped mirror images, or the tunnels that turn our lives upside down. Instead, faith changes our relationship to those moments when they happen.
Finding our way isn't always comfortable. It doesn't always end with a clean win. Sometimes you crawl to the other side. And yes, sometimes the results are, let's just say, trash.
But I want you to remember, just like in the fun house, the hard seasons all have an exit on the other side.
Keep going.
Mentoring Moment
I want you to sit with the following question for a moment before you scroll on:
Where in your life have you been standing frozen because you’re trying to ‘figure it out’?
Watching other people move forward. Convincing yourself you'll go next. Waiting until you feel more certain, more sure of your footing.
What if ‘knowing the answers’ isn't the requirement?
What if willing is enough?
You don't have to have it all figured out. A mustard seed of faith is enough to take the first step. Grab the wall when you need to. Laugh at yourself when you fall. And trust — really trust — that the other side is worth the tumble because God is with you every step of the way.
That's faith.
That's adventure.
That's the good stuff.
Your turn...
Are you standing at the entrance of something scary? Have you just made it through your own revolving tube and want to share about it with me?
Click reply and tell me. I read every single email, and your answer helps shape what we do next together.
Because that's the thing about a fun house — it's always better when you go through it with someone.
Until next time,
Susan
